Do you want to work in effective and dynamic groups to achieve your goals?
‘Sociocracy’ is an approach for organising how work is done and the decisions are made in small to large groups of people working together. Based on circle process, it utilises “power-with” to spread leadership and allow for real and effective navigation towards the collective mission.
It is a framework for collaborative decision-making and holistic group governance and is a catalyst supporting groups to be effective, transparent and provide member equivalence.
How does it help groups to function better and dramatically increase productivity? The methods of governing processes produces:

>>> Distributed leadership.
>>>> Clear communication.
>>>>> Non-violent communication.
Individuals, groups and organisations who want the means to achieve their visions for the world through whole-systems approaches with proven collaboration techniques. This training is for anyone wanting to enjoy working with other people in ways that empower decision-making with clarity and purpose – inclusive of all those involved.
This Foundation training with Erin Young & Tonielle Christensen is a purpose-built workshop to train and support you and your groups to turn inspiration into positive impact.

The 2.5 day “Foundations of Sociocracy” training provides the essential tools for applying the Sociocratic Circle Method in existing or forming groups. Expect interactive simulations, practice sessions, and exercises, presentation of essential information and time for participant questions and feedback are part of every training.
Class sessions include:
= Introduction to Sociocratic values, principles and practices – what, how, and why.
= Consent decision making – implementing equivalence and effectiveness.
= Circle (policy) meetings, roles, and elections – organising work.
= Organisational structure – how to scale equivalence, consent, feedback, and transparency.
= Introduction to inclusive facilitation and leadership skills.
= Strategies for operational effectiveness.
= Training participants become active members of a simulated organisation, and “learn while doing” to address issues and challenges facing the group.
Venue: Cairns Hinterland Steiner School Main Building (at entrance).
Fri 23 6 pm to 9 pm & Sat & Sun 9am to 5pm

Erin Young helps purpose-led people and enterprise access tools to activate group intelligence to turn inspiration into positive impact. Collaborative decision-making and governance tools (Sociocracy) and holistic design for people systems (Social Permaculture) are her primary frameworks; all nature-inspired and informed.

Erin is a consultant, trainer, mediator, and facilitator. She holds a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering (Hons) from Brisbane’s Griffith University (2004), and gained her first permaculture design certificate in 2010 in Portugal. Based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia, Erin lives with her husband in a forest cottage within a regional community of practical creatives.
